I went to PWA London Meetup, Toaster showcased building a PWA from scratch for the Natural History Museum that had the hard requirement of storing no remote data. I.E all the caching.

There was also some interesting lessons learnt with Redux:

This followed a talk from a Googler who showed off the latest PWA features, including true one click authentication (Not OAuth Redirecting) and one click payments both of which use your Chrome preferences.

These pieces of functionality push more into the client side, the database truly is turning inside out and its an exciting place to be for web right now.
